Young Achievers’ School of Caloocan, Inc. (YASCI) Senior High School Sportsfest 2024 began with great enthusiasm and excitement, embracing this year’s theme, “Energy in Diversity, Power in Unity.” The opening ceremony, held on December 6, 2024, was a celebration of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the vibrant spirit of YASCI’s senior high school learners.
The event commenced with the declaration of the opening of the SHS Sportsfest 2024, led by Honorable Councilor Orvince Howard A. Hernandez, a distinguished member of the school’s Board of Directors. His inspiring message emphasized the importance of unity and teamwork in achieving excellence both in sports and in life.
A symbolic passing and lighting of the torch followed, signifying the igniting of passion and determination among the athletes. The torchbearers, representing each team, demonstrated their dedication to upholding the values of sportsmanship and fair play.
The event continued with electrifying performances during the cheerdance competition, where each team showcased their creativity, coordination, and school pride.
The YASCI SHS Sportsfest 2024 features six competitive teams;
ABM Magenta Fox: Agile and resourceful, ready to outsmart the competition.
GAS Blazing Hornets: Fierce and determined, buzzing with energy.
HUMSS Growling Wolves: Strong and relentless, embodying resilience.
STEM Raptors: Fast and focused, dominating with precision.
HE Wildcats: Bold and fearless, showing unmatched agility.
ICT Glacial Guardians: Cool and composed, strategizing their way to victory.
Adding elegance to the celebration was the ramp walk of muses from each strand. Each muse dazzled the audience with grace and charm, proudly representing their respective teams.
Before announcing the winners, Mr. Robert Porteria serenaded the muses with a lovely song, adding a
romantic and heartfelt touch to the program. Following this, Andrea Co, the reigning SHS Ms. Sportsfest 2023, joined the stage to assist in crowning the new Ms. Sportsfest 2024. The audience erupted in applause as the STEM Raptors’ muse was declared the winner, adding another triumph for their team.
The STEM Raptors soared to an impressive start, winning both the Cheerdance Competition and Ms. Sportsfest 2024, setting a high bar for the rest of the sportsfest. Their victories reflect their dedication and teamwork, as well as the unity that aligns perfectly with this year’s theme.
As the sportsfest continues, learners are expected to participate in various athletic events and games that promote camaraderie and sportsmanship. The opening ceremony set a vibrant tone, showcasing the diverse talents and unity of YASCI’s senior high school community.
