Young Achievers’ School of Caloocan, Inc. (YASCI) dedicated the second quarter to promoting emotional well-being and self-awareness among its learners through a week-long series of mindfulness activities and a Mental Health Seminar themed “Unpacking Emotions: Understanding and Expressing Oneself.”
The initiative aimed to create a safe space for learners to explore their emotions, understand their significance, and express themselves in constructive ways. The seminar and activities provided tools and techniques for emotional regulation and mindfulness, fostering a supportive environment where students could grow and connect.
The highlight of the week was the Mental Health Seminar, which delved into practical strategies for recognizing and managing emotions. Learners engaged in interactive discussions led by experts, exploring how to navigate emotional challenges and maintain a balanced mindset.
This empowering session equipped students with the skills to manage stress, build resilience, and cultivate a positive outlook on life.
Complementing the seminar, the mindfulness activities throughout the week allowed participants to apply what they learned in real-time. These activities included guided meditation, journaling, breathing exercises, and group reflection sessions, all designed to enhance focus, calmness, and emotional clarity.
The event underscored the importance of mental health as a vital component of holistic education. It also strengthened the YASCI community, encouraging open
conversations about emotional well-being and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health topics.
YASCI extends its gratitude to all facilitators, learners, and staff who contributed to the success of this meaningful initiative. By prioritizing emotional growth and mindfulness, the school reaffirms its commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals prepared to face life’s challenges with confidence and empathy.
As the YASCI community moves forward, the lessons learned during the “Unpacking Emotions” week serve as a reminder that understanding oneself is the first step toward building a more compassionate and supportive world.
