YASCI Holds Recollection 2024 at Sta. Krus Parish

Young Achievers’ School of Caloocan, Inc. successfully held its annual Recollection 2024 from May 8 to 10 at Sta. Krus Parish, gathering students from Grades 6, 10, and 12 for a time of spiritual reflection and community building. The three-day event provided a meaningful pause in the academic calendar, offering students the opportunity to deepen their faith and strengthen their bonds with peers.

The recollection began on May 8 with Grade 6 and Grade 10 learners coming together for a day of introspection and spiritual renewal. The day kicked off with a solemn mass celebrated by the parish priest, who focused on themes of gratitude, self-awareness, and the importance of spiritual growth.

After the mass, students engaged in various activities designed to encourage personal reflection and group sharing. Facilitators guided the learners through discussions about their experiences, challenges, and aspirations, fostering a supportive environment where they could connect on a deeper level.

Group activities also emphasized teamwork and community, allowing students from different sections to interact and build stronger relationships. By the end of the day, the students left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of their spiritual journey.

On May 9, the focus shifted to the Grade 12 learners from the ABM (Accountancy, Business, and Management), GAS (General Academic Strand), and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) programs. For these students, who are nearing the end of their high school journey, the recollection offered a valuable space for reflection on their personal and academic growth.

The day began with a mass that resonated deeply with the students, as the priest spoke about resilience, the importance of faith, and staying grounded during times of change. Following the mass, the students participated in activities that encouraged them to think critically about their future, their goals, and the values that will guide them as they transition to the next phase of their lives.

The discussions and reflections were tailored to address the unique challenges faced by students in these programs, providing them with insights and support as they prepare to embark on their respective career paths.

The final day of the recollection, held on May 10, was dedicated to the Grade 12 learners from the HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences), HE (Home Economics), and ICT (Information and Communications Technology) programs. These students, who are also preparing to graduate, were given the opportunity to reflect on their educational journey and the road ahead.

The day followed a similar structure, beginning with a mass that centered on the importance of compassion, understanding, and using one’s talents to make a positive impact on the world. The priest’s homily encouraged the students to consider how they can contribute to society, both personally and professionally.

After the mass, the learners engaged in group activities and personal reflection exercises that allowed them to explore their thoughts and feelings about the future. Facilitators guided discussions on the importance of staying true to one’s values and using their education to pursue meaningful and fulfilling careers.

As the students of Young Achievers’ School of Caloocan, Inc. return to their regular routines, they carry with them the profound reflections and strengthened bonds forged during the Recollection 2024. This event reaffirms the school’s commitment to providing a holistic education that nurtures not only the intellect but also the spirit, preparing students to face the future with confidence and purpose.
