NPSAC Division Journalism Clinique

Young Achievers’ School of Caloocan, Inc. (YASCI) continues to nurture young talents as its campus journalists (CJs) and school paper advisers (SPAs) actively participated in the 2024 NPSAC Division Journalism Clinique. The event, organized by the Division of North Caloocan, aimed to refine journalistic skills and prepare participants for the highly anticipated Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC).

The clinique, a highlight of the journalism calendar, featured breakout sessions tailored to various competition categories. These sessions offered an immersive experience, focusing on key aspects of journalistic writing, editing, and broadcasting. Participants explored their specific categories in-depth, gaining valuable techniques to elevate their storytelling and reporting abilities.

Spearheading the event was Mr. Tommy R. Rico, Public Schools District Supervisor and Division Coordinator for Journalism. Mr. Rico’s expert guidance brought clarity

and purpose to the sessions, which combined hands-on activities with engaging discussions. He emphasized the importance of journalism as a tool for education and social change, inspiring attendees to approach their work with dedication and integrity.

The YASCI delegation returned from the clinique with a renewed passion for their craft. Armed with practical insights and strengthened skills, they are well-prepared to tackle the challenges of the upcoming DSPC. The event not only honed their technical abilities but also underscored the crucial role they play in amplifying the voices within the school and the broader community.

YASCI takes pride in its campus journalists and school paper advisers, who remain committed to fostering a culture of critical thinking, creativity, and communication. With their newfound expertise, they are set to continue making a meaningful impact through their journalistic endeavors, serving as a source of inspiration and information for the entire YASCI community.

As the DSPC approaches, YASCI eagerly anticipates seeing its campus journalists excel, showcasing the skills and determination honed during the 2024 NPSAC Division Journalism Clinique.
