Empowering Educators: Highlights from YASCI’s In-Service Training S.Y. 2025–2026

YASCI successfully held its annual In-Service Training for teachers and staff from June 2–6, 2025. This year’s INSET served as a platform for professional growth, collaboration, and renewal—equipping educators with the skills, mindset, and strategies needed to respond to the ever-evolving demands of 21st-century education.

The training commenced with a school-wide reorientation designed to realign all staff with YASCI’s mission, vision, and core values. Sessions emphasized institutional protocols and best practices in test construction and assessment design. These foundational topics ensured that teaching and learning remain consistent, purposeful, and data-driven.

YASCI partnered with Diwa Learning Systems Inc. for a seminar titled “AIgnite: AI Integration in the Classroom” Educators explored the ethical and practical use of artificial intelligence in education—highlighting tools that support teaching efficiency and student engagement, while also ensuring data responsibility and academic integrity.

Departmental meetings focused on vertical articulation, finalization of instructional materials, and alignment with curriculum standards. Teachers collaborated to ensure the seamless flow of learning across grade levels and discussed strategies to address instructional gaps. Policy reviews also included a refresher on the Child Protection Policy, reinforcing every teacher’s role in creating a safe, inclusive school environment.

Digital literacy took center stage on Day 4. Teachers attended hands-on training on Microsoft Office 365 and Checkbox—two core platforms used in the school’s academic and administrative processes. These sessions helped enhance efficiency, collaboration, and confidence in managing digital workflows across all departments.

The final day of INSET emphasized holistic care through Mental Health and Well-being SeminarEducators engaged in meaningful discussions and practical activities focused on recognizing signs of mental health concerns, managing stress, and fostering a supportive classroom climate. The session underscored the importance of self-care and the educator’s vital role in promoting emotional resilience among students and colleagues.

Through this week-long journey of growth and collaboration, YASCI reaffirms its commitment to nurturing empowered, ethical, and innovative educators. With renewed passion and united purpose, we face School Year 2025–2026 ready to lead, uplift, and inspire.
