Our History
The YOUNG ACHIEVERS’ SCHOOL OF CALOOCAN, INC., formerly known as Young Achievers’ Learning Center, was founded by two retired public school principals—Oscar E. Hernandez and Julita Ramos Hernandez. Established in 2003, the YASCI campus is situated in Barangay 171 Zone 15, Bagumbong, Caloocan City, near the boundaries of Meycauayan, Bulacan, Valenzuela City, and Quezon City.
With the rapid increase of population in the area brought about by the migration of people from the urban areas of Metro Manila and the subsequent development of several first-class subdivisions, the Hernandez family responded to the need to establish a new school to serve the children in the community and to help decongest the overcrowded public schools.
After the opening of a Pre-Elementary Course in 2002, the Grade School Course (Grade 1) of YASCI began and was awarded recognition by the Department of Education in 2003.
In 2005, recognizing the significant role of the physical plant in attaining the objectives of the school, a two-story four-classroom building was constructed, while the classrooms in the old building were converted into air-conditioned preschool rooms. Computer classes were also offered at the Grade School Level.
Congruent with its ideal of excellence in education, YASCI continued to improve the quality of its facilities. The year 2010 marked the construction of the functional covered court for sports and events purposes. The construction of the four-story High School Annex Building, with eight air-conditioned classrooms, is now ongoing, in compliance with the K to 12 Program of the Department of Education.
As of 2016, the Nursery/Kindergarten, Elementary, and Secondary courses of YASC are now granted complete GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION.
With the onset of SY 2016-2017, YASCI—which recently received certification from the Private Education Assistance Committee—is all geared up for the frameworks and demands of the Senior High School Program. YASCI is undeniably ready to face K to 12’s challenge of providing graduates with lifelong skills.
Strategies and action plans have been set in preparation for the future. YOUNG ACHIEVERS’ OF CALOOCAN, INC., in its quest for excellence and achievement, now unveils its road map for sealing a legacy of quality education in the Philippines.
